Castle Series FAQ:

Who made the Castle Series?

The Castle Series is drawn and animated by Oscar Johansson, and co-written by Fabian Berglund ( Long_haired_buddy ) and Oscar Johansson. Details on people contributing with voicework, actionscript or similar are listed in the credits of respective episode.

Will there be anymore Castle animations?

Castle: Repercussions is currently in production and will continue the story from the perspectives of survivors left behind in the third Castle.

Will there be a Castle IV?

There are plans for it, but don't expect it for a while yet. Castle Repercussions will take time to finish!

Will there be a Castle game?

The idea has been tossed around, but at the present time the actual animated series is in focus. It is not unlikley a Castle game will be made when the series has been completed however.

Can I make my own Castle game?

No, a game is not permitted, sorry. Castle fanart and tribute animations are however welcomed and appreciated.

Can I help with the Castle animations with art, story, etc?

Sorry, but nobody is needed on the production team at the present time.

Can I voice a character in the next episode?

That's not likley since all the main characters have actors, and many of the actors are capable of voicing multiple parts. Feel free to send auditions of your voicework for future animations however.

I have a great idea for the next Castle animation...

Great, but it will not be used. The story is already written and characters are finalised far in advance of the animation.

How long will it be until Castle: "X" is released?

Oscar works as best he can on the animations, so just be patient. Please have patience and keep in mind that Oscar does not have animating as a job, but as a hobby. It takes lots of time finishing your animations.

I have some Castle fanart I drew can I show it off?

Yes! Please post it in the fanart thread in the showoff forum.

Oscar can you teach me flash?

It's an honour to be so highly thought of, but keep in mind that animation takes lots of practice and patience. Feel free to check out the tutorials though!

How long did Castle III take to make?

All four parts and the prologue took around two years to make.

I'm having trouble determining who 'x' character is?

Etrius is the protagonist, and is the one who was shot by the General. The General wears the beret and carry's the 44. Magnum Pistol. Dr. Romanov has white hair and glasses and carries the book. Boomer has blonde hair and carries a shotgun. Beecher has red eyes and carries a sniper rifle. Lloyd has brown eyes and carries a sword.

Who did the voices of the characters?

The cast list is in the credits but the voice cast was: Etrius: Ryan McCormack (Frogs) The General: Rob DenBleyker Dr. Romanov: Oscar Johansson Boomer: Tawl Beecher : Dave McE Lloyd: Rob DenBleyker Soldiers: Oscar, RobD, Peter Murphy Prologue Narrator :Laura Nash All voice credits are in the credits of each Part.

What was that music at that point in the animation?

All music credits can be found in the end of the specific part you're watching.

Is 'x' character dead/alive/going to make it?

It's a long standing idea in many forms of media that unless you see a corpse of a character, they are likely to make another appearance. But you'll just have to wait and see.

Who is The Wise One?

The Wise one was one of the last surviving ancients in the Castle dimension. He was the one who locked the 'power' inside the Castle.

Is Etrius the Wise One?

No, the wise one was killed in the altar room of the third Castle by the evils as explained in the prologue.

Do the squad of special soldiers have a history?

The squad comprising of Etrius, Boomer, Beecher and Lloyd have a history of working together, however they have not always worked under the command of The General.

How are they getting from their dimension to the one with the Castles in it?

There is a portal through which they travel. This portal can be seen either in Part A, when the helicopter arrives at the base, or under the deleted scenes in the extras section of Part D.

Was that Lloyd who was crushed by a falling rock in the altar room?

No, it was an evil creature.

Did Boomer and those soldiers fall to their death after the bridge collapsed?

This can be answered. If you wait until after the credits in Part D there is an extra scene with Boomer and his squad.

The General says that oil resources are depleted, so what is running the helicopters they use?

Make up your own reason, - They have some of the last reserves which were in military possession - The helicopters run on a hydrogen based fuel, yes it exists. Stop being a smartass.

What happened to Etrius when he touched the black orb?

That will be explained later in the story of Castle.

What is the black orb?

The orb is what The Wise One sealed the 'ancient power' inside before his demise, to protect everyone else from what had happened to his people.

Etrius said The General knows something, what does he know?

This will be explained, later in the story of Castle.

Etrius said that “They're using you [The General]”. Who are they?

The General undoubtedly has his superiors he takes orders from. We'll see who they are as the story unfolds.

Beecher is the only one who knows The General shot Etrius, is he going to do anything about it?

Wait and see

Dr. Romanov ran away, is he a coward?

Dr. Romanov isn't a trained soldier, and would be fairly useless in combat, but he more likely ran away because he wasn't stupid. He did try to warn everyone remember?

Why was Etrius in handcuffs during the flashback in Part A?

To see if he would co-operate or not, as said by The General.

Why has Etrius appeared to have left his job as a solder, "I don't do this anymore." (To General)

Castle Repercussions FAQ:

What is Castle Repercussions?

You can see Castle Repercussions as Castle III and a half, ( 3.5 ). It will follow the survivors stranded in the Castle from Castle III. See the upcoming section for a more in depth description.

Will this episode be cut into parts like Castle III was?

Yes. Parts A, B, C, D1 and D2.

Who is Ray?

Ray is one of the soldiers under the command of The General. He was thrown into a wall by a demon in Castle III part D as he ran through a corridor. Ray is the first character to make an appearance in Castle Repercussions.

Will 'X' character appear in Repercussions?

We can't know for sure what characters will appear in Repercussions, but there are many theories. See the Castle theory thread to see some of these.

When will Castle Repercussions be relased?

Currently no release date is set. Check the frontpage or the upcoming section for Repercussions updates.

What kind of music will be in Repercussions?

The music in Castle Repercussions will be customly made by the composer Aleksander Vinter, (Winterbliss in our forums). Music similar to the music in Castle III will be included, as well as new more original music.

Who is the owner of DQ?

DQ is Oscar Johansson's showcase website.

Where did the name DeletionQuality come from?

The name was thought up by Rezuth and Oscar, as they were tossing ideas for a name around. Two ideas for a name were mixed to make DeletionQuality, which sounded good according to the admins.

Why .net, why not .com?

Because .net sounds better.

Who are the administrators/moderators?

Admins: Oscar, Netrosis and Rezuth
Moderators: Tawl, Victory, SilverPaperPlate and Polo. RPG moderators are Wadling and Varthonai.

Can I be a mod, I'd be a good one?

No, moderator positions are offered to members who have shown maturity and have helped DQ since they joined, please don't ask us to become one. We have a kickass mod team, andurrently do not need new moderators.

What is the infraction system?

The infraction system is used by the board moderators and administrators to let people know when they have infringed on or broken the rules. When your infraction level reaches 90 you will receive a temporary 7 days ban. 95 points will result in a 1 month ban. 100 points will get you banned for a year. The points will drop over time unless any rule violations occur. If desired by an admin we can also perform a permanent ban at any time, meaning you won't be able to return.

Why did I get an infraction?

The moderator/admin who issued you the infraction will provide you with a reason. You should learn from this to avoid making the same mistake.

I got infracted for a rule I didn't know existed!

If you'd read the rules it wouldn't have happened.

I don't like your system here on DQ, it's unfair!

You're not being forced to stay here, if you really don't like it, then you can leave the site. Do remember that there are many members here who coexist happily with the system in place, so you should be able to as well.

After the Castle series is completed, do you (Oscar) have plans for other projects?

Yes I have plans for other projects. They will be reveal once started.

Can you please add some new tutorial?

My main focus is at Castle Repercussions, but if I get some spare time in the future I'll make some tutorials.

What was the music in Slakt / The Stickfather

Since I for some stupid reason did not add music credits in Slakt, I'll list the music here: Lok - Lok Står. The Stickfather soundtrack is the original godfather soundtrack composed by Nico Rota. Other animations should have the music listed in their credtis.

What software do you (Oscar) use to create movies?

Adobe Flash - The main program. ( formerly Macromedia Flash )
Adobe Photoshop - Used for certain effects. Mainly on backgrounds.
Electric Rain Swift 3D - To create 3D models.
Goldwave - For sound editing. I like it better than Audacity.
Audacity - Also for sound edting. Has some features Goldwave does not.

How many layers do you use?

I do not re-use layers, since I want to be able to name them. I add the layers needed for every shot in the movie. The amount of layers is different in each Flash scene, but I can say at least 1000 layers per .FLA
